11/30にロンドンのレスター・スクウェアで行われる「The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader/ナルニア国物語：朝開き丸東の海へ」のロイヤル・プレミアですが、カスピアン王を演じるベン・バーンズは、女王がエディンバラ公と共にロイヤル・プレミア会場に到着する前に、出演中の舞台『Birdsong』の劇場に戻らなければならないようです。

With his character upgraded from a prince to a king in Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Ben Barnes would appear to be taking on some airs and graces. Indeed, the 29-year-old actor plans to make a regal exit just before the Queen arrives for its Royal Film Performance tomorrow.

"It isn't done to leave before Her Majesty appears, especially if you are the star of the film," whispers my man with the clapperboard. "But Ben feels he has been put into an impossible situation."

Barnes, who plays King Caspian in the film, is adamant that he will make it to the nearby Comedy Theatre in time for the 7.30 pm start of his West End play Birdsong. After posing for the cameras on the red carpet at the Odeon Leicester Square, he will jump into a wating car to reach the theatre in time for his first scene. Alas, the Queen will not arrive at the Odeon with the Duke of Edinburgh until 7.30: the very moment when Barnes is required on stage.

Benはただ今、レスタースクウェアのすぐ隣にあるComedy Theatreで、舞台『Birdsong』の主演を務めています。夜の部の開演が19:30。女王がプレミア会場に着くのが19:30。残念ながら、幕が上がる時間に到着ではどーしようもないですよね。

今度こそ舞台に穴を開けるわけにはいきませんし(ナルニア２でカスピアン王子の役を得るため、Benは当時出演していたWestEndの舞台『History Boys』を途中降板してます)。

『Birdsong』を上演しているComedy Theatreって、レスタースクウェアのすぐ横なんですけどね(^_^;　移動そのものには5分もかかりませんが、衣装を着替えてメイクをして…となると、19時くらいにはプレミアから出なきゃいけないでしょうか。

Benは、3時間に及ぶ『Birdsong』を演じ終えた後、ナルニアのプレミアパーティに出るだろうと言ってました。翌日もしっかり公演があるので、身体を壊さないように、飲みすぎないように頑張ってほしいものです！
