The History Boys降板時、Benは微妙にドタバタだったとか・・・・
The Gardinに、アラン・ベネットの舞台『The History Boys』についての記事があり、そこで少しBen Barnesについて触れられていました。
Not every transition has been so smooth, however: Ben Barnes, 27, might have earned a detention if not a caning when he quit the part of Dakin before the end of his contract in 2007 and flew to New Zealand to take up the title role in Disney's The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. The National was furious, but Barnes insisted that he gave sufficient notice.
契約の終了前に『ナルニア王国物語：カスピアン王子の角笛』への出演が決まり、舞台を降りてニュージーランドに向かったBen。余裕を持ってThe National Theatreには通知を出した(とBenは主張)のに、劇場は激怒したとか(^^;
まぁ・・・・出演中の舞台を降りるのは結構ややこしいですからねぇ・・・
The History Boysに出演した役者さんたちの多くはハリウッドやTVドラマなど、成功への道へ進めたようです。Benはもちろん、カスピアン王子で大ブレイクです(笑)
